Biopark Cosmetics Organic Sweet Orange Oil

Purpose of use: Air freshening (diffuser). 

The essential oil is cold-pressed from the peels of sweet oranges. It has an orange colour and a sweet, citrus scent, much like the orange peels it is derived from, only more intense and concentrated. It has antidepressant, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, carminative, cordial, deodorant, digestive, stimulant (nervous), tonic (cardiac, circulatory) properties. It has also been used to combat colds, constipation, flatulence, the flu, slow digestion and stress. In cosmetic products, it is an excellent treatment to revitalise dull, tired skin.

Blends well with: lavender, bergamot, rosewood, lemon, clary sage, myrrh, sandalwood and spicy oils such as nutmeg, cinnamon and clove.

Interesting Facts: The orange is a smaller, evergreen tree that can reach up to 3 meters in height. It is native to Southeast Asia. It was supposedly brought to Europe by Arabians during the first century, along with the bitter orange tree. In many languages, it is also known as "The Chinese apple". Because the fruits became so popular, it is widely grown in warmer countries all over the world but it is mostly cultivated in Brazil, USA and Mexico.
