Basil , Ocimum Basilicum Oil

This plant stems from the Lamiaceae family is mainly found in Egypt, France and Italy. It has antibacterial and skin clarifying effects, as well as soothing itchiness. It is effective against some viruses and improves the elasticity and suppleness of the skin. Basil is also known to keep insects at bay.
In aromatherapy, basil has antidepressant effects, as well as promoting concentration and memory. It may also be used in the treatment of mental imbalances and motion sickness. The essential oil should not be used by expectant mothers and those suffering from epileptic.
